Warrior Queen

Sun sets on another day of battle
With steadfast quiet attention
She sits and breathes
And channels the turbulence inwards
Til the inner eddies untangle relax and flow once more
Into depths new
Stronger and more powerful than before
She observes
She learns
She rests
She prepares in steps
Hands on her courageous heart
Palms open and up
Brow to the earth
Then rises with dignity
She is ready
The river full wide deep smooth and fast
Power as the new dawn breaks
